
Drexel's Real-Time Online Pre Flood Early Warning System (EWS) continuously monitors river water levels and flow rates and provides timely alerts regarding potential flood situations. The system helps downstream communities and authorities take preventive action, mobilize disaster management teams, and facilitate evacuation when required.
The system utilizes advanced monitoring devices installed at strategic upstream locations, providing sufficient warning time for downstream areas. Through telemetry, GPS, and IoT-enabled communication, warning signals and flood intensity data are transmitted to concerned government departments and authorities. The information can be accessed through centralized servers and monitoring stations. Additionally, large LED display boards can be installed at prominent locations to provide alerts and public awareness.
The integrated weather station monitors key environmental parameters including ambient temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, wind direction, atmospheric pressure, and piezoelectric rainfall.
The system is pre-programmed with historical river data, including flow rates and water levels. Any abnormal variation immediately triggers alert notifications to designated monitoring stations and LED display boards. Historical data is securely stored on the server for up to one year for analysis and reporting purposes.
The system is powered by a high-capacity inbuilt lithium battery with an operational life of up to six months. Solar charging backup is also available for remote and inaccessible locations.
